- Pure sine wave inverters produce AC power identical to utility grid electricity with total harmonic distortion below 3 percent. This allows them to safely run sensitive devices like medical equipment, motors, compressors and variable speed power tools. Modified sine wave can cause these devices to overheat or malfunction.
